It is a part of Comacchio that once was called Magnavacca. Took the name of Porto Garibaldi by Royal Decree of April 13, 1919, to remember the disembarking of Giuseppe Garibaldi, which occurred on August 3rd 1849. It is an important fishing harbor and an exciting summer resort, with beautiful beaches. Comfortable to visit Comacchio, that is reachable also with motor boats with limited draft. The moorings for yachting are all on the south side of the Lido degli Estensi Canal. On the south bank a dock near the bridge of the highway was excavated, managed by Assonautica.

Dangers

Pay attention to the commercial motor vessels in transit on the port canal. Depending on the tides the docks emerge or disappear; the depths decrease from 3.5 to 2.5 m with strong tides.
